Pomeroy Shows Only 14 North Dakota Donors on Latest FEC Report

BISMARCK - Incumbent Democrat Earl Pomeroy showed only 14 individual contributions from North Dakota in his latest fundraising report filed with the Federal Election Commission on July 15, 2010.

"For only 14 people in the entire state of North Dakota to show up on Earl Pomeroy's latest campaign filing is absolutely laughable," said Adam Jones Executive Director of the North Dakota Republican Party.  "With his votes in favor of ObamaCare, bailouts, and record deficits, Pomeroy has proven he is willing to sell out North Dakota leaving only his Washington friends and special interest allies left contributing to his failing reelection effort."

According to The Center for Responsive Politics, over his career Pomeroy has received over $9.6 million from special interest groups, accounting for 71% of his total contributions.  His most recent report filed with the FEC on July 15th shows only 14 of the 255 itemized contributions came from North Dakota individuals.  The report shows an additional 5 North Dakota PACs to bring the total state contributions to 19.

As of June 30th the Berg campaign raised over $1 million primarily from North Dakotans.   Of the $1,044,563 raised to his campaign, $715,065 have come from a total of 1,526 North Dakotans.

The extreme in-state fundraising disparity between the two campaigns backs up the public polling released on this race that has shown Berg leading Pomeroy for five straight months. The latest Rasmussen poll released on June 21st showed Berg leading Pomeroy 51%-44%.
