BERG TO ANNOUNCE CANDIDACY ON TUESDAY

BISMARCK, N.D -North Dakota business leader, legislator and Former House Majority Leader Rick Berg will announce his intentions to be a candidate for office on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
The announcement will be made at news conferences in Fargo, Berg
's hometown of Hettinger, Bismarck, Minot and Grand Forks.

Background:
Berg is a co-founder of Goldmark Schlossman Commercial Real Estate Services and served as managing broker from the company's inception to 2006, working with a number of primary sector business projects in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
He has served in the North Dakota House of Representatives since 1985, holding a variety of leadership positions including majority leader, speaker and chair of the Industry, Business and labor committee. He is currently completing his final term.
In December, the North Dakota Chamber of Commerce gave Berg its highest honor, the Greater North Dakotan Award, for his work in building a positive business climate in North Dakota.
From 1999 to 2007, Berg served on the board of directors of the Greater Fargo-Moorhead Economic Development Corporation. He has supported a number of nonprofit organizations including the American Red Cross, YWCA, Fargo's Hope Lutheran Church and NDSU's FarmHouse Fraternity. He was recently appointed to the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation Board of Directors.
He and his wife Tracy have one child, Jack, and live in Fargo.
